The midnight sun is a natural phenomena that occurs in regions south of the Antarctic Circle and north of the Arctic Circle during the summer months, including Northern Norway.

The earth rotates around the sun on a tilted axis, and the North Pole is oriented towards our star throughout the summer months. This is why the sun does not set above the Arctic Circle for several weeks.
