The head of the far-right group ‘Stop Islamization of Norway’, Arne Tomer, has insulted the Quran after he was banned from burning a copy of it, with hundreds of anti-racists participating in a protest.

According to the Norwegian state television (NRK), members of the far-right group "Stop Islamization of Norway", staged a protest in a neighborhood inhabited by immigrants in the southern city of Kristiansand.

It added that the head of the far-right group wanted to burn a copy of the Quran in order to offend Muslims.

In response, a group of anti-racist of 500 Norwegian Muslims and non-Muslim activists organized a protest at the same venue, demanding police to end the far-right group.

During the protest, participants chanted slogans denouncing racism and carried a banner reading "We don't want racists and anti-Islamists on our streets."

The persecution of Christians in parts of the world is at near "genocide" levels. "In some regions, like the Middle East, the level and nature of persecution is arguably coming close to meeting the international definition of genocide, according to UN." And China is intensifying religious persecution as Christianity's popularity grows. "Political correctness" has played a part in the issue not being confronted. However, several Norwegian protesters were laid in the ground when they demonstrated in Kristiansand this afternoon November 16, 2019. The chaos started when a man started burning the Quran.



The protesters came mostly from SIAN (Stop Islamizing of Norway). Prior to the demonstration, they had announced that they would set fire to the Quran. The police had told SIAN that they would not allow this. Around 500 counter-protesters had turned up



As the Quran was thrown in a trash can, another Sian member started burning the book. Then counter-protesters broke past the barricades and a full fight ensued. Sian members were carried away in police cars.
