Carried away by the snow.
A powerful landslide that occurred on Wednesday 03.06.2020 in the municipality of Alta in the Northern province of Finnmark in Norway, swept eight houses into the sea.
This was reported on Thursday by the local.
As specified by the Norwegian broadcaster NRK, the incident occurred in the afternoon of Wednesday in the town of Kroknes on the beach.
The width of the landslide was 650 meters.
In total, the landslide swept eight houses of the village located there into the sea and a dog, which was later rescued.
According to the latest information, there were no injuries.
One person was evacuated from a house located there, which was not affected by the landslide.
Mostly in the village there are country houses where residents come only on vacation or on weekends. The Alt authorities created a crisis headquarters after the incident. The police imposed a ban on movement on local roads. There is still a lot of snow melting before the risk of flooding and landslides in most of the country can be lifted. Now experts are hoping for the least amount of precipitation to avoid the most dramatic situations. Today the risk of landslides still remains at the yellow level for the greater part of Northern Norway and southern Norway. The constant melting of snow has led to several landslides in recent days, especially in Finnmark and Tromso. Унесенные снегом. Об этом сообщило в четверг издание The local. Как уточняет норвежская телекомпания NRK, происшествие случилось во второй половине дня среды в местечке Крокнес на берегу моря.
Ширина оползня составила 650 метров. Всего оползень унес в море восемь домов расположенной там деревни и собаку, которую впоследствии удалось спасти. По последней информации, пострадавших нет. Один человек был эвакуирован из находящегося там же дома, который оползень не затронул. В основном в деревне расположены дачные дома, куда жильцы приезжают только в отпуск или на выходные.
