On the seventeenth of Mai Norway celebrates the Constitution Day. The constitution was signed on 17th of May 1814. It was at the time considered to be one of the most liberal or radically democratic constitutions in the world, and it is today the second oldest single-document national constitution in Europe after the Constitution of Poland (3 May 1791). It's definitely one of the days celebrated most in a year, with crowds uncommon for Norway on a daily basis. Everyone is out, waving flags, wearing traditional outfits called bunad, and having as much fun as possible. Indeed a very happy day! :)
