HISTORY
Norwegian oil history began in the mid-1960s when negotiations on the dividing line in the North Sea were clarified. In 1965, the oil office in the Ministry of Industry was established and the first licensing round was announced. The museum shows the historical development from the first platforms drilled in the North Sea, via steel and concrete platforms developed and built-in Norway - to modern, flexible production vessels and subsea systems that seem to be the future solution on the Norwegian shelf.

Dinosaurs in museum
The exhibition runs until September 30! Plenty of time to visit up to several times. We have our own teaching programs for schools and kindergartens.
What do Ankylosaurus magniventris, Baryonyx walkeri and Tyrannosaurus rex have in common? They have, together with 10 other dinosaurs, just been given a temporary stay at the Norwegian Petroleum Museum. From Thursday 10 February, they will all have found their habitat in the museum and there they will stand until September.

Though standing, they will not stand completely still. A little movement and a little noise we have to reckon with. If it is not completely Jurassic Park, then there is no doubt that there will be exciting times at the museum in the future. 13 dinosaurs will show again in the museum landscape and we look forward to being able to tell about them to both adults, young people, and children.
