There isn`t much to say about Geir Vasseng and his band System Liliput, because the person behind this solo project clearly doesn`t want too much attention to him as a person. He wants his music to speak for itself. And it truly does. One off the best D.I.Y. tapes from Norway were released in 1984 as "Harpa" (The Harp) is a post-punk / new wave affair not to unlikely early "Fra Lippo Lippi" and "The Cure".

"De Våknes Rike" is truly something else, and very little is known, except it never saw an official release. It`s not known if it were recorded before or after, probably after as the music here is more advanced, sopisticated and dreamy. It is a hidden gem in the Norwegian Progressive Rock Genre, it contain lots of acoustic guitars, flutes, synthesizers and percussion along with Geir`s incredible narritives. Only known info is from Lydia Laska`s vocalist around 2004 or 2005, which claimed to have gotten the copy from Geir himself !

Stavanger is where Geir Vasseng lived. He played all the instruments and vocals and wrote all off the music by himself. "Harpa" came out on Vassengs label Geva Tapes & Studio in 1984, and also re-released on an expanded LP from the American label "Dark Entries" in 2011. Soon after the release off "Harpa" the track "Gatelangs" was included on the compilation tape "Untitled" on Requiem.

His profile on discogs reads : Musician, home-studio owner and tape label operator (Geva Tapes & Studio) in the mid-1980s. Located in Stavanger, Norway. Died July 27, 2016.
