Muddy Young

Muddy Young is a modern pop-rock band from Norway, consisting of Jarle Hundsnes and Jan-Otto Eriksen. They grew up in a suburban place on the west-coast of Norway and played in various bands from an early age. In 2015 they started making music together and Muddy Young was born.

Their debut EP ‘My Messed Melody’ was released the 4th of July 2018 and received good radio cover from local radio stations in Norway and three of their songs got listed on Radio102´s top40 list. Following the EP release they went on a tour in Europe, where they played at shows in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium.

Muddy Young is playing many live shows at venues varying from small pubs to bigger venues, such as Scandic Maritim Hall in Haugesund, Myntgata 2, 17 May festival in Oslo and Fugl Fønix Fest. Muddy Young is also scheduled to support world Idol winner Kurt Nilsen in Aksdal, the 12th of July.

About the Rollercoaster EP (fun facts):

This EP is a rollercoaster of feeling up and down, from hate to love, hell and heaven, earth and space. You can feel the energy from love and the frustration coming from hate in the very same EP. Fun fact; some parts of the song Drunk Drive is written and produced in a camper at Gaasperplas camping outside of Amsterdam.

The song Rail Of A Rollercoaster was written on tour when Jan-Otto Eriksen suddenly woke up hearing noise from a train, he wrote the lyrics, fell back to sleep and forgot about it. The next morning he saw the lyrics and he thought it was really cool and they’ve made a song out of it.

The story behind Better is from Muddy Young´s first live performance where the vocalist Jan-Otto Eriksen spotted a girl in the crowd and fell in love at first sight. The song is full of energy as the lyrics describes a rollercoaster of feelings and love. By the way, the girl from the song came backstage after the show, they hit it off and they’re now together and still in love.
