Ruggesteinen is located on Åmodt in Sokndal municipality in Rogaland. The stone weighs 74 tons and is Northern Europe's largest movable stone. The ridge stone is located along the road up to the Blåfjell mines. The stone is a moving block that has accidentally been left at the tipping point. The ridge stone was protected in 1923 as the first geological protection in Norway.
