Drum Major Ian Esson leads Ballater & District Pipe Band off the games field playing "Scotland the Brave" during the 2019 (178th) Tomintoul Highland Games in Moray, Scotland.
Based in the Deeside town of Ballater in Aberdeenshire, North East Scotland, the forerunner of the present Pipes & Drums was the Ballater Branch Air Training Corps pipe band of the 1950's and early 1060's. These were funded and equipped by the late Lady McRobert, in memory of whom the current band parades in Ancient Hunting Robertson tartan for kilts and plaids.
