Norway Chess 2022 - one of the world's strongest chess tournaments - with armageddon playoffs! In the 8th round in Stavanger we had again a lot of draws in the classical games, that's why we saw more thrilling armageddon games. World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen is leading still after round 8, followed by Mamedyarov, who won his classical game against India's Vishy Anand, who is in third position now. GM Anish Giri also won 3 points for his direct win. One round to go - Everything is still possible!
The 2022 Norway Chess Tourney (10th edition) takes place from May 31st to June 10th in the city Stavanger (Norway), a true chess metropolis.
This great chess event is featuring World Champion Magnus Carlsen and his predecessor Vishy Anand. Kasparov said once, Norway Chess is the "Wimbledon of Chess".
