Tesla Presents Canada What It Learned from Giga Berlin and Texas About New Location

Tesla has started talks with Canada, and lobbyist documents reveal what's important for Tesla now, after Giga Berlina nd Giga Texas, when it comes to choosing a new gigafactory location. These public documents now further strengthen the rumors of a next possible Tesla Gigafactory in Canada.

The public records, posted on August 12, suggest Tesla has been talking with feral government officials in Canada over the last six months.

It specifically covers Tesla exploring manufacturing opportunities in Canada and focused on speeding up permit timelines, notes Teslarati and quotes the record.

TESLA’S UPDATED LOBBYING OBJECTIVES

“Seek government support to facilitate the engagement with provinces regarding permitting timelines, to increase the competitiveness of Canada and its ability to attract capital through approvals timeframes that are competitive with other manufacturing locations while working with government to identify incentives to further increase the attractiveness of Canada,” wrote Tesla as its lobbyist objectives.

As you can see Tesla has learned a good lesson from Giga Berlin and Giga Texas.

While Giga Berlin was built in record time compared to German standards (compare with the Berlin airport's 10 years of construction), Gigafactory Texas took much shorter time and less hassle to build when it came to final permits.

Now, these public records show that faster approval timeframe is a dealmaker for Tesla, when it chooses the location of its next Gigafactory.
