I spend several weeks anchored in the Hampton river (Virginia) looking at weather files, hoping to find a long enough break in the onslaught of early winter cold fronts to get across the Gulf Stream. The typical departure date from the US East Coast to the Caribbean is November 1, and it is now late November. The general plan is to be in Puerto Rico for Christmas.
