When Krishna left Vrindavan, Radha's life took a different turn. Radha is married to a Yadav. Radha played all the rituals of her married life and grew old, but her mind was still devoted to Krishna.
Radha fulfilled all her duties as a wife. On the other hand, Shri Krishna performed his divine duties.
After being free from all duties, Radha went to meet her beloved Krishna for the last time. When she reached Dwarka, she heard about Krishna's marriage to Rukmini and Satyabhama but she was not sad.
When Krishna saw Radha, he was very happy. Both kept talking to each other for a long time in the language of signs. Nobody knew Radha ji in Kanha's city Dwarka. On Radha's request, Krishna appointed her as a goddess in the palace.
Radha used to stay in the palace all day and watch the work related to the palace. She used to see Krishna as soon as she got a chance. But Radha was not able to feel the same spiritual connection with Shri Krishna in the palace, so Radha decided to move away from the palace. She thought that she would be able to go far and establish a deep intimate relationship with Shri Krishna.
She did not know where she was going, but Lord Krishna knew. Gradually time passed and Radha became completely alone and weak. At that time, he needed Lord Krishna. At the last moment, Lord Krishna appeared in front of him.
Krishna asked Radha to ask for something from him, but Radha refused. On Krishna's request again, Radha said that she wanted to see him playing the flute for the last time. Shri Krishna took the flute and started playing in a melodious tune.
Shri Krishna played the flute day and night until Radha metaphorically merged with Krishna. While listening to the tune of the flute, Radha gave up her body.
Although Lord Krishna knew that his love is immortal, yet he could not tolerate Radha's death. Krishna broke the flute and threw it in the bush as a symbolic end of love. Since then Shri Krishna has not played flute or any other instrumentalist throughout his life.
It is said that when Narayana took the birth of Shri Krishna in Dwapara Yuga, Mother Lakshmi was born as Radha Rani so that she would remain with him even in the death world.
