Walking on an autumn day in Oulu center, Finland

Oulu is a city of about 205,000 inhabitants in northern Finland, geographically it is close to the exact center of the nation moved close to the west coast. Capital of the province of the same name, it is located in the northern Ostrobothnia region, near the mouth of the Oulujoki, on the shores of the Gulf of Bothnia. In size, it is the sixth largest city in Finland.

It was chosen to be the European Capital of Culture in 2026.
