Edition 2019 | Volume 4 | Chapter 5

Rain, rain, go away is the theme of our first Norwegian port city of Oslo. There is so much joy to discover in Oslo. One of the largest capital cities in the world, this European destination covers 175 square miles. Locals are friendly and helpful, and tourists are well taken care of in all the major hotspots—from more than 50 museums to unique landmarks to charming restaurants.

Our official Disney port adventure sees us hitting three of the big city highlights:
• Vigeland Sculpture park where we walked among 212 eye-catching sculptures by Norwegian artist Gustav Vigeland, designer of the Nobel Peace Prize medal
• Holmenkollen Ski Jump percheded high above the city, Holmenkollen is the cradle of ski-jumping and the site of the 1952 Olympic ski-jumping competition.
• Open Air Museum Norway’s largest museum of cultural history. Here, we encountered preserved Stave Churches dating back to the 1200s and indoor and outdoor exhibitions that include folk art, costumes, toys and examples of Sami culture (indigenous Finno-Ugric people).
