In countries across the world, the gender gap in schools has reversed in recent years. Why do girls get better grades than boys do, on average, and why do more women than men complete high school and graduate from universities? In this eye-opening and personal talk, Camilla Stoltenberg sheds light on trends that challenge modern approaches to equity in education. Professor Camilla Stoltenberg is a Norwegian physician, researcher and leading public health expert. In 2017-2019, she chaired an official commission in Norway on rising gender differences in school performance. Stoltenberg has been Director General of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health since 2012. She studied medical anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley, and has been a visiting scholar at Columbia University. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
