Welcome back to our series of Arctic Adventures in our Volkswagen Camper van.
In this thrilling episode we tackle bitterly cold temperatures, a dramatic drone rescue mission and capture breathtaking scenery.

We start the day with a flat battery. Luckily our Noco jump starter got us started and on the road in no time, allowing us to continue our adventures.
It was another gorgeous morning with an epic sunrise, it was the coldest day so far with temperates reaching -26 by 10am. The scenery was stunning with snow laden trees and hills so we sent the drone up only for it to loose signal causing us to do a hasty 26 point turn to head back to rescue it.
Continuing our journey southwards from Alta in Norway we drove the most beautiful road and found out where all the reindeer hang out, or so it seemed.
As we travelled further south through Finland the temperatures plummeted and the camper van engine started to loose temperature, causing the cab to cool considerably. Another drop in temperature to -40 and both our heaters, the main living area heater and the engine preheated cut out. We had to make a decision as to what to do, continue south through Sweden, east towards the Gulf of Bothnia or head back north west to Norway.
At -42 with darkness falling, no heating and an unhappy sounding engine we made the decision to head north and then west back to the coast of Norway where it was a balmy -22.
