On July 10th 2023 I hiked to Kinnarodden, then camped and hiked back to Mehamn on July 11th.
This hike was part of a longer journey, mainly by train through Denmark, Sweden and Norway (Interrail Global Pass), by bus through Troms and Finnmark (Snelandia Summer Bilette) and by plane (Vadsø - Bodø and Oslo - Hamburg).
I started on the 10th from Karasjok, where I had camped, by bus to Ifjord. Then with the on-call bus to Mehamn (this could be booked by email at no additional cost, snelandia.no for more information).
After shopping at the local Coop (selection a bit limited, but good for such a small town in Norway) I went off. The weather was always very good. If it was raining or windy it would have been much more challenging, especially because of the rocks on the way.
When I'm in the north, I don't feel lonely, just alone, because there are hardly any other people.
In this society, however, I have to realize that I am not integrated into the social environment at all. This leads to isolation. So every year I flee to the north. This time not to the road Nordkapp, but to the more beautiful Kinnarodden.
