In April of 1940, German forces launched the lesser-known operation in the north to invade Norway, to save their iron ore supply, among other reasons. Watch my animated history video to learn about why Germany invaded Denmark and Norway, how they did it, and why the way in which they did it was so significant, and also the effect the campaign had on World War II for both the Germans and the Allies.
