Our Pujo journey continues on to the land of the midnight sun and then to the Persian Gulf. We join a prabasi adda on Mahalaya to learn about Stavanger, Norway's Durga Puja. The members of Banga Bharati Stavanger actually make their own idols and not get it from Kumartuli. Now in its 10th year, the puja has grown large enough to move into a proper venue. In the Gulf island of Bahrain, Bongiyosamaj makes a theme pujo recreating rural Bengal. And of course, the attendees in traditional Bengali attire add on to the ambience. Around 200 plus pujos outside the Indian subcontinent will be celebrating prabasi pujos this weekend.
