And the day finally arrived to visit one of the most anticipated destinations in our trip: Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock)! Woke up quite early around 4:30AM to get ready before heading up to the northern rocky lands of Ryfylke.

We took a ferry transport to cross the Horgefjorden sea and continue our relatively short drive of 45min towards our destination. We passed through a zone named Ryfylkevegen which immediately caught us. Kind of farms neighborhood, beautiful houses with plenty of green backyards. We definitely see ourselves living there :)

Once at Preikestolen, we quickly parked, grabbed our stuff, and started climbing up through the mountain. I must say we didn’t expect hiking that fast, as the path was very inclined since the very beginning; so quickly we found ourselves strugglingly breathing to continue. It was a 2.5-hour walk (finding time to take pictures and videos), 3.8 kilometers climbing up to the cliff which rises 604 meters above the Lysefjorden. It might sound like nothing, but the game-changer here is the trail conditions, as the path climbs and descends various ridges. Great photo shot opportunities everywhere.

Once there: you are going to have the most amazing landscape view ever across the fjords and northern mountains. It is simply astonishing and breathtaking. You immediately forget about everything and a sense of huge accomplishment embraces your thoughts. A gem you can’t let it pass. Then the descend took less time than ascending, to finally get some rest at a small cafeteria for you to grab a snack and charge up the batteries. After that, we drove all the way back to Olso (another 8 hrs) which we certainly enjoyed as well. If you want to have the greatest of the road trips, this is the route to take.

PS: not the greatest filmmaker, YouTuber, influencer, editor, producer, or any of that. Not being paid by Youtube either. Just a regular guy sharing travel experiences for our family, our friends, and anyone who wants to check us out. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to drop them below.

Thanks for watching!
