The week before departure Statsraad Lehmkuhl was moored in Arendal. The time was spend making the final preparations for the circumnavigation. On Wednesday 18 August, the ship was ready, and the mayor of Bergen hosted a sail away party on board. The One Ocean Expedition partners enjoyed food and drink, and joined Haakon Vatle in a shanty. As director of the Statsraad Lehmkuhl foundation, Vatle also got the honor of letting the mooring go on Friday 20. August. The expedition was underway.
