Alireza Firouzja is a sole leader after 7 rounds of the OTB Altibox Norway Chess tournament held in Stavanger. In this game, he completely outplayed his opponent and it's really difficult to find the mistakes in his gameplay. As he said in the interview, he was trying to make logical moves, and indeed, he delivered that, yet that wasn't enough to keep the equal game going.

The 8th Altibox Norway Chess 2020 tournament takes place Mon 5th Oct to Fri 16th Oct 2020 in Stavanger, Norway. The 6 players have been isolated for the last few days in order to play this over the board event. Players Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Levon Aronian, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Alireza Firouzja, and Arjan Tari. The event uses an unusual format in that there are three points for a win and if drawn there is a single Armageddon game where the winner gets 1.5 points and the loser 1 point.
